Installation of Oracle Management Agent using RPM File

Oracle Management Agent  is one of the core components of Enterprise  Manager Cloud Control that enables you to convert an un-managed host to a managed host in the Enterprise Manager system. The Management Agent works in conjunction with the plug-ins to monitor the targets running on that managed host.This article tell you how to Create Oracle Management Agent RPM File and install it.
On the OMS host, from the OMS home, log in to the EMCLI client. EMCLI Client is available by default with every OMS installation, so you need not install the client separately.



Synchronize EMCLI:



Identify the platforms for which the Management Agent software is available on the OMS host:



Create Agent RPM file:

Before you do this,ensure that the /usr/lib/oracle directory exists and it has write permission.If it doesn't exists,you can get an error when you create agent rpm file.



After that,you can find your rpm file in your destination,here is the /home/oracle directory:

Install agent on the destination host:


Edit the /usr/lib/oracle/agent/agent.properties file as described in follow view:


I just define following mandatory parameters:



Run /etc/init.d/config.pl to complete the installation.The Configuration log Location is here:<AGENT_HOME>/cfgtoollogs/cfgfw/CfmLogger-<timestamp>.log
After that,verify your installation is successful or fail ,using emctl command:
