Solution:

1. Set the owner of brbackup and brarchive to ora<sid>:dba

2. Add user 'ora<sid>' to group oper in /etc/group file

3. Set the owner of init<sid>.sap file in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs folder to ora<sid>:dba
